Theories of the Origin of Language: Analytical study
Keywords:
اللغة, نشأة, نظرياتAbstract
This thesis aims to review the key theories that have attempted to construct a conceptualization of the origin of language. These theories do not generally provide a realistic final explanation of the origin of language due to the lack of decisive evidence. Instead, various theories emanating from disparate hypotheses and reaching different conclusions have been developed. The thesis falls into three chapters, preceded by an introduction and a preliminary, and followed by a conclusion and bibliography.
The introduction deals with the significance of the topic, research methodology and the organization of the thesis. The preliminary deals with definition and importance of language as well as theories of the origin of language. Chapter one deals with the revelationist theory. Chapter two deals with the conventionalist theory, whereas Chapter three deals with the Bow-wow theory. The conclusion summarizes the main findings of the study. The bibliography lists the references used by the researcher.
