The criteria of distinguishing synonyms in Al Askari (D.395) and Muhyiddin

Abstract

This study not only deals with the meaning of synonymy in Arabic, and the reason for its emergence and existence, but also tries to provide a new addition to the studies that dealt with the phenomena of multiple meanings and words, as it presents the criteria that contribute to distinguishing between synonyms and ways of choosing them for expression and description, and this study focused on the book Linguistic Differences by Abu Hilal Al-Askari, which is among the books that dealt with the linguistic semantic differences between the meanings and vocabulary of Arabic words since time immemorial, and compared to the modern classification of Muhyiddin Mahsab in his book Analysis Semantic differences in language by Abu Hilal Al-Askari. This study aims to know the criteria for distinguishing between synonyms in Arabic This study also seeks to apply these standards in the fields of modern linguistics such as computational linguistics in its various fields: (machine translator, proofreader...) and specialized scientific journals. Among the most important results of this study: the application of criteria for distinguishing between synonyms on our used language and our living dialects to reveal their linguistic value and to be accurate in our use of language, and adding other criteria required by time, place and different sciences. Contribute to the various fields of translation, and find semantic differences between overlapping terms at all times and places, regardless of the different circumstances of this overlap.
